MR-IMPACT and more ...

MR-IMPACT proves excellent performance of Perfusion-CMR for the detection of coronary artery disease!

In MR-IMPACT, perfusion-CMR demonstrated an excellent performance in the detection of coronary artery disease with an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.86 ± 0.06 and performed better than SPECT with an AUC of 0.67 ± 0.05 (n = 212, p = 0.013).

National Research Council --- USA:
Radiation exposure increases cancer incidence

As shown in the BEIR Report VII - Phase 2: Out of 100 people exposed to 0.1 Sv,  about 1 person is developping cancer - see below Figure PS-4 (page 7 of the report).

In more than 82'000 patients with a first myocardial infarction, radiation exposure during post-infarction work-up increased cancer incidence in a "dose-dependent" fashion in line with the numbers published in the BEIR VII - Phase 2 Report of the National Research Council.
